Earthquakes are never pleasant, especially if you are living in an earthquake prone area. With the incidence of earthquakes increasing it is always good to know a little more about how they actually occur and what causes them. A great infographic released by Weather Underground speaks about where are the earth’s stress lines. Something called the Ring of Fire; these stress lines that are responsible for 90% of the world’s earthquakes. And if you thought that earthquakes were just a natural phenomenon, devoid of human intervention, think again. A process called fracking, that allows big oil companies to access that precious oil and gas reserve, is responsible for increasing occurrence of earthquakes.
