The Origin Of The Term 420
420 have some sort of significance no matter which part of the world you come from. While in India it has an implied notion of being duped or getting conned in some way, across the globe in the United States of America the term 420 holds a new meaning altogether. While the Indian connection to 420 may a little harder to find, the story behind the US 420 is far simpler. For all those who dint know 420 in the US, refers to marijuana. Why you ask, well it so happened that when a bunch of guys at San Rafael High School in 1971 decided that 4:20 would be the time they would meet up to go in search for their treasured plant in the woods. From then on Marijuana got its time in the day – Four-twenty, which was made popular by the pop culture Grateful Dead (the popular American rock band).
